Balloon Glow, fireworks and live music on Friday night, car show and festival Saturday, early Saturday and Sunday morning lift offs. Fingers crossed for a less humid weekend than last year where things did not take off. See you there?

Plainville Balloon Festival

We dragged ourselves out of bed EARLY this morning to head to the Plainville Balloon Festival.

Not the greatest weather today for the 23rd Annual Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival. It is overcast, hazy, 70-something degrees with 80% humidity that did not present ideal flying conditions for the eight balloon teams that were there.

Bringing down the balloon. After several tries to inflate the balloon, this team abandoned their efforts, and brought it down and wrapped it back up.

The Firefly was the only balloon that got off the ground, and it looked like it just made it over the trees at the edge of the park and came down on the other side.

Hopefully tomorrow morning the weather will be better for festival attendees.
