The Haunting in Connecticut Movie

Been waiting on this movie for a while, why wasn't it out at Halloween? Or a Friday the 13th?

The chilling of tale The Haunting in Connecticut which stars Virginia Madsen, is based on a true story. The terrifying, real-life encounter of the Campbell family with the dark demonic forces of the supernatural.

When the family moves to upstate Connecticut (apparently Southington) they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner's clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover. Now unspeakable terror awaits, when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the dead, returns to unleash a new kind of horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family. The family seeks the help of ghost hunters and the Catholic Church, which performs an exorcism. (Description from Lionsgate).

Several years ago I was introduced to this creepy story thanks to the Discovery Channel "reality show" A Haunting which documents real life cases of hauntings with some of the worst acting you will ever encounter. The case was originally handled by noted occult investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

In searching information about the movie "The Haunting In Connecticut" I discovered it's based on an old out of print book published in 1983! the book is called "The Devil In Connecticut". This book was banned after just 6 weeks on the shelves. Apparently the Catholic church didn't want people to know that their Priests could not defeat the demons in the boy! It features paranormal exorcists Ed & Lorraine Warren. I found it on Amazon, Ebay and cheapest from a web site Scared the Bejeezuz out of me! I wonder what's up with Connecticut and demon activity anyway?

Gee Big Addison- I lived in CT for 31 years and never once did I see any demonic activity. I don't think it had to be CT- It could have been anywhere. Just happens to be where two of the best ghost hunters happen to live.....Ed and Lorraine Warren and I guess for the Campbell family it was a solace for them to be so close to help them with their problem. Seems funny though that it was set aside for so long. That would be my question....because look at all the other true storied (of course sensationalized in movie form) but the Amityville Horror was also in CT too as far as I know, but there have been so many other true events that have been published that it IS hard to understand why they stashed it away .....hmmmmmm
